Mamie Mayes, a dedicated community vanguard and proud resident of Bridgeport since the late 80s, is passionate about family and community empowerment. As a devoted mother of two daughters, grandmother of four (affectionately known as her “GlamStars”), and mother-in-law, Mamie’s family is at the heart of everything she does.
With a strong background in administration and leadership, Mamie has been a board member of the Seaview Community Development Corporation since 2023, utilizing her expertise in networking to promote quality housing for minority communities. Her professional experience spans over three decades, including roles as a Receptionist and Typist II for the City of Bridgeport, Office Assistant for Dr. Ralph R. Ford, and Treasurer for the East End Political Action Committee and Re-Elect State Representative Andre Baker.
Mamie’s educational foundation was established at Shelton High School, where she graduated in 1984, and furthered at Housatonic Community College. Her skills include computer proficiency, leadership, communication, networking, administration, and problem-solving.
As a committed member of Sisters at the Shore, Mamie continues to make a positive impact in her community, driven by her passion for creating a better future for all.
